CHAPPAQUA CHIC
CHAPPAQUA, NY

After being here for several years, the young, active and fun family who live in this beautifully renovated home were ready to complete the main level and make it more functional to their needs.

ENTRYWAY

An informal center hall table and chandelier sit on a leopard print rug in the entry hall. The curved bench offers seating but is also a great drop for coats or purses while the large mirror reflects light from the front door sidelights.

DINING ROOM

The dining room had to be beautiful, functional for 10-12 people while still maintaining the flow from the contiguous spaces. The table top has an interesting design and self-storing leaf. An industrial, rope-bound chandelier complements the raw burlap head chairs, both of which are offset by the silk patterned drapes.

HOME OFFICE

The former living room was transformed into a functional work-from-home office, being masculine yet comfortable. Red-backed grasscloth and tan woodwork warm the walls while the traditional rug and furnishings maintain the owner's vision. Soundproofed glass doors keep the room quiet without closing it off.

IN-KITCHEN BAR

The home owners do a lot of entertaining, so the kitchen was retrofitted to include an upscale wine bar. A new serving area replaced the old, unused desk space. It features a custom-designed wine rack, butcherblock top and wall-mounted wine opener.
